With profound sadness, I inform members of the passing of Mr. Peter Lilley, late of LI, who passed away on 12th January 2026, aged 67. Peter served in the 2LI and attained the rank of Serjeant. He was a highly esteemed NCO within the Battalion and highly respected by all ranks. When Peter joined the Army, he was a junior bugler at the Light Infantry Depot in Shrewsbury. Our deepest condolences go out to Peter's daughter Colleen, his family, and friends during this sad time.

During 2025, a film production company was embedded with 13 Platoon, D Company, 5 RIFLES, filming a documentary called 'Platoon 24/7: Preparing for War' (‘24/7’ is a C5 ‘brand’ they use on a few access series). Malcolm served with the KOYLI, KSLI, and LI, achieving the rank of Serjeant. Malcolm was actively involved with the Association and was the Chairman of our Doncaster Branch. With profound sadness, I inform members of the passing of Mr. Kenneth Shaw, late KOYLI, who died on 6th November 2025 at the age of 90. Kenneth, often called Ken, completed his National Service with the KOYLI between 1956 and 1958, achieving the rank of Corporal. Ken was actively involved with the Association and a member of our Wakefield Branch.
