With profound sadness, I inform members of the passing of Mr. Peter Lilley, late of LI, who passed away on 12th January 2026, aged 67.

Peter served in the 2LI and attained the rank of Serjeant. He was a highly esteemed NCO within the Battalion and highly respected by all ranks. When Peter joined the Army, he was a junior bugler at the Light Infantry Depot in Shrewsbury.

Our deepest condolences go out to Peter's daughter Colleen, his family, and friends during this sad time. Please know that our thoughts are with you as you navigate this profound loss.

As the bugle sounds 'No More Parades' and you take your place in the FRV.

Your duty done with honour and distinction.

Rest in Peace Peter.
