Remembering a KOYLI Soldier 100 Years on
KOYLI soldier Alfred Wrigley from Batley died in Staincliffe Hospital on 1 Jul 1919 after sustaining serious injuries in the great war. Today I had the honour to be the KOYLI Standard Bearer at the funeral of Don Lochrie the last KOYLI In-Patient at The Royal Hospital Chelsea. The funeral was held in the chapel of Royal Hospital Chelsea. Don’s Granddaughter Nicky and her Aunt Maggie were joined by Don’s fellow In-Patients and his friends.
