Jim Smith, ex KOYLI

On 5 Sept 2016 family, friends and members of the association attended Jim's funeral. Following a church service at St Georges Church, Lupset, Wakefield a cremation service took place at Wakefield Crematorium at the Malayan Veterans standard was carried by Harry Newton, the KOYLI (Wakefield Branch) was carried by Colin Cranswick, Last Post and Reveille was sounded by Peter Bate and the Exhaltation was read by Colin Ward.

Jim was a gentleman, always had a joke for you, devoted to his family, highly respected by his church and those who knew him. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

On behalf of the Regimental Association members our sincere condolences to Jim's wife Anne, his family and friends.

As the bugle sounds "No more parades" and the band plays Sunset, stand easy Jim your duty done, a place awaits you in the final RV where your brothers in arms who went before wait to greet you. RIP Jim. Cede Nullis
