It is with sadness that we announce that Mr Leslie William Basford, known as Les, late KOYLI and 2LI passed away on 11 Dec 2020 aged 72 after a battle with cancer. Sadly his wife Brenda, an honorary member of the Association, passed 2 weeks before Les. Our thoughts are with Les' family and all of his' friends at this sad time.
The bugle sounds No More Parades as you take your place in the FRV your duty done, rest in peace Les. Cede Nullis.
Les enlist into the KOYLI in 1966 and saw service in Aden, Berlin, UK, and NI. Les spent most of his service in the Assault Pioneers Platoon. He was highly respected by all who served with him.
Funeral Arrangements
Date and Time - 30 Dec 20 at 3.30pm
Location - Rose Hill Crematorium, Cantley Lane, Doncaster, Dn4 6NE
Bugler and Standard have been requested by the family
Association members are invited to attend the funeral only but, outside.

Anyone wishing to send cards or letters of condolence is requested to send them to the Rifles Regional Office at Minden House marked FAO family of Les Basford. Office staff will then forward them to the family.
