On Tuesday, 7 October 2025, at St Peter's Church in Conisbrough, members of the our Association gathered from our branches and from across the country to honour Fred Adamson, a D-Day veteran and our oldest Association member at 105, with a Regimental funeral.

Fred's coffin, draped in the Union Flag and adorned with his medals and white roses, was carried into the church by four Association members: Majors (Retd) David Jarratt, Major (Retd) Dave Wroe, Captain (Retd) Graham Wood, and Mr. Derek Winter. Standard Bearers carrying the KOYLI Standard from each Association Branch formed a guard of honour at the church entrance.

After the church service, a cremation service took place at Rotherham crematorium. The Standard Bearers, Ady Waites, Robert Smith, Andrew Kober, Wayne Morris, and Colin Cranswick, stood vigil on either side of the coffin during the service. As Buglers Barry Dixon and Sean Wroe played the Last Post, the Standards were lowered in an act of Remembrance.
