Hundreds of people lined the route that started at the James Backhouse memorial wall at his old school in Castleford and took in other cemeteries in the 5 towns area including the War memorial in the Pontefract that has a plaque to the KOYLI. Our buglers and Standard Bearer were present at the memorial wall and at the War memorial.

The ride concluded at Castleford Ex Servicemens club where after a service of remembrance for Rfn James Backhouse 2 Rifles and Bdr Craig Hopson Royal Artillery a newly refurbished room in the club dedicated to them both was officially opened.
