The following quote has been received from Councillor Paul West, Armed Force Champion for Doncaster Council:
"I think it is a great honour that Doncaster has been chosen to have the statue of the KOYLI soldier. Doncaster's connections with the KOYLI goes back a long way and many of our boys served with the regiment. We also have the KOYLI museum in Doncaster and the statue will only add to the close ties and friendship we have with them. As the Armed Forces Champion for Doncaster I fully support this project."
