Unveiling of KOYLI, LI, and Rifles at Barnsley Armed Forces Walkway 14 Jun 22

Association members along the Commanding Officer 8RIFLES, Lt Col Mark Laverick, OC Y Coy 8RIFLE, Maj Ben Clare, joined the Mayor of Barnsley, Cllr Sarah Tattersall, other veteran organisations, their Standard Bearers, and members of the public for the official unveiling of 3 Regimental stones on the Barnsley Armed Forces Walkway.

Three new stones, one each for the KOYLI, LI, and Rifles were unveiled during a brief service during which Buglers from 8RIFLES sounded Last Post, and the three Regimental Standards carried by Pete Bate, Dean Portman, and Colin Cranswick were dipped. In honour of the parade in Barnsley Pete Bate carried the old Barnsley Branch KOYLI Association Standard. Other stones were also unveiled during the service including one by honorary association member Veronica Hanson for her late husband a former member of the KOYLI.
