The Festival of Remembrance at Nostell Priory: A Tribute to Service and Sacrifice

Every year, the Festival of Remembrance parade takes place at Nostell Priory, followed by a service at the church of St Michael and Our Lady, Wragby, located within the priory's grounds, on the Sunday preceding Remembrance Sunday. This event is coordinated by the RBL Sub Group of Lord St Oswald and is graced by the presence of the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, various Mayors from Wakefield Metropolitan District, Veterans organizations, and cadets from the Army and Royal Air Force.

Members of the KOYLI, LI, and Rifles Association (KLRA) from the Pontefract and Wakefield branches participated in the parade, along with Rifles cap-badged cadets from the Pontefract and Normanton Detachments. Standard Bearers from the Association Office, Leeds, and Wakefield branches proudly carried the Standards of the 3 regiments of our Association and joined other Standard Bearers from the RBL and various other regiments associations. The parade marked Andy Kober's debut as the Standard Bearer for the Wakefield branch, following his recent completion of Standard Bearer training. Congratulations to Andy on this achievement.

Buglers from Minden House Buglers, led by Kev Fawcett, provided entertainment after the parade. Kev played Last Post and Reveille during the Remembrance service at the church.
