Information from the Chairman of The DCLI, SCLI, LI & Rifles Association Cornwall
Introduction
The Association are once again holding a Dinner Night in remembrance of the Battle of Paardeberg in which the (32 Regiment of Foot) DCLI played a role. The Lostwithel DCLI Band will be attending and will be supported by members of the Bugle Association.
Hotel Policy
We have sole use of the Hotel, and they block book all the rooms for the dinner. This means that you need to book your accommodation and meal through me. If you find you cannot attend within two weeks of the event you will lose your money on your room and one week before on your meal. In the past you have been allowed to transfer your booking to another weekend this is now at the discretion of the hotel.
Accommodation
We are dealing directly with the Hotel on room bookings and the rates for both Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and prices are held at the same rate as our last dinner in October.
If you would like a Sea View Room (SV) it is an additional £10 per night, the SV will be on a first come first served basis and I will inform you, if you did not win your SV booking and a refund of your £10.00: -
£43.00 Single Room – 1 single Bed
£69.00 Double or Twin Room – 1 Double Bed or 2 Single Beds
Sea View Rooms (SV) are additional £10 per night.
Hotel Car Parking
There are a limited number of parking spaces and on arrival you can pay £5 per day for parking. This cannot be booked in advance so do not ask or ring the Hotel.
Friday Night Smugglers Den
The Friday night event has been successful with a visit for an evening meal to the Smugglers Den Cubert. If you want to attend, then please indicate on the return with numbers for meals and transport. This transport will leave the hotel at about 1845 hrs and will return you to the hotel before midnight.
