With profound sadness, I inform members of the passing of Mr. William (Billy) Poulton, late of LI, who passed away on 25th September 2025, aged 78.
William, known as Billy, served in the 2LI and attained the rank of Corporal. He was a highly esteemed NCO within the Battalion and as an instructor at the Light Infantry Depot in Shrewsbury in the mid-1970s. Unfortunately, Billy had been living with dementia for several years.
