It is my sad duty to inform you of the death of Colonel (Retd) Brian Denney TD, DL on Monday 21 Jan 2019 at 0800 after a courageous battle against cancer.
Colonel Denney was well known and respected around the county and was Honorary Colonel TA/Cadets. He gave many years’ dedicated service to The Regiment, and in more recent years, since the formation of The Rifles in 2007. Colonel Denney played an instrumental part in raising and maintaining the profile of The Rifles in Yorkshire and will be sorely missed by many.
Our condolences and thoughts of all members of the Association are with Col Brian's daughters and family at this sad time. RIP Colonel as the Bugle sounds 'No More Parades'. Swift and Bold.
Colonel Denney was predeceased by his wife Jill last November and leaves two daughters Lucy and Lisa.
Funeral details are yet to be arranged and once known I will send out a further notice.
