Bill Grainger's Christmas Greetings

KOYLI Cap Badge

Today I visited former KOYLI Band Serjeant Major Bill Grainger, who celebrates his 98th birthday on 28 Dec 17, to deliver an Association Christmas Card and Birthday greetings on behalf of the Association, the KOY/LI Band and Bugles Club and the Veteran Band and Bugles.

Bill, who is in relatively good health given his age, had just returned home after an afternoon out with his son Andrew. Bill want to know all the latest news from the Association, the Memorial, the celebrations next year to mark the 50th Anniversaries of the end of the KOYLI and the formation of the LI. He was particularly pleased to learn about the Veterans Band and hand me a copy of a book, Swing with the Stars "The Ramblings of an Itinerant Trombone Player" by former KOYLI Bandsman Stuart Atkins who lives in Tingley.

Bill wished me to thank the Association for the Christmas box, card and birthday wishes. He wishes to be remembered to all Association members and retired Officers who know him and sends everyone his best wishes for the Christmas season and the New Year.

Bill, Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday for the 28th Dec. Cede Nullis.
