On Friday 31 March 2017 at 1130hrs members of the Regimental Association joined members of South Kirkby Council, the British Legion, other Associations and residents of South Kirkby for the unveiling of the towns newly renovated War Memorial. The names of those from the town who made the ultimate sacrifice in both World Wars have been added to the Memorial. KOYLI Branch Standards from; South Kirkby, Barnsley, Dewsbury, Pontefract, carried by Owen Harrison, Tim Humphreys, Brian Clayton and Colin Cranswick flanked the Memorial as the local vicar read out each of the names. Last Post was sounded by Pete Bate of the Light Division and Rifles Buglers Association during which the Standards were dipped, Binyon was read by local resident, KOYLI Association member and South Kirkby British Legion member Eddie Robinson after which a minutes silence was observed.

In the evening Eddie and other members of the Regimental Association attended the Last Night of the Prom in the Grove Hall. It was an excellent night. Eddie Robinson and Colin Cranswick ran a raffle in aid of the KOYLI Memorial Appeal which raised a £120. Thank you to the residents of South Kirkby for their support of the Memorial Appeal and their generosity.
