Hughie McGowan - Late KOYLI

An article in the Wakefield Express on 10 Feb 2017 about the passing of 91 year old KOYLI veteran http://www.wakefieldexpress.co.uk/news/tributes-to-war-veteran-who-passed-away-aged-92-1-8382483 (article below curtesy of The Wakefield Express Newspaper) resulted in a number of telephone calls to the Regimental Association Secretary who in turn made enquiries with the news desk of the Wakefield Express. News Editor Nick Frame put the family of Hughie in touch with the Regimental Association.

Peter McGowan, one of Hughie's sons, has contacted the Regimental Secretary confirmed the arrangements for Hughie's funeral which are: Thursdays 26 Feb 2017 at St John’s RC Church in Normanton. The family have also requested the KOYLI Standard which will be carried by Tim Humphries.

Our condolences to Hughie's family at this sad time. RIP Hughie stand easy old soldier your duty is done. Cede Nullis
