Legion d’honneur recipient Fred Adamson, Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, celebrates his 101st birthday today 15 November. We believe this makes Fred the oldest surviving KOYLI.

Bugle calls sounded by Kev Fawcett outside Fred’s home in Conisbrough Doncaster announced Fred’s birthday and the delivery of a birthday card from the Association.

Fred appeared in the BBC‘s coverage of this years scaled down Remembrance Sunday Parade at the cenotaph in Whitehall. Fred was to have led 7 members of the association on the March Past of Veterans but COVID restrictions prevented this from happening.

I am sure that you will join Lt Col (Retd) Graham Whitmore Association Vice President and members of the association in wishing Fred a very happy birthday.
