Association members are advised to follow government and NHS guidelines on coronavirus particularly in respect of personal hygiene (handwashing/coughs/sneezes), travel, self-isolation and what to do if you think you are infected. Details can be found at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ . This advice may change so it should be checked regularly.
Although there is as yet no ban on public gatherings branch secretaries have been advised to consider whether to temporarily suspend or postpone branch meetings and functions at their discretion. Decisions about future Association events such as the Malayan Veterans Reunion, the AGM and Minden Day will be made in due course depending on the situation and any further government advice.
Members are encouraged to keep in touch with each other, especially with anyone on their own, and let the Rifles Office/Association Secretary know if a member who is adversely affected by the virus needs help.
Further advice will follow as the situation changes and as it affects Association business.
