Eight members of the Association from Leeds, Pontefract and Wakefield Branches on Wednesday travelled from Wakefield to London for the opening of the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey on the Thursday. So on Wednesday afternoon we paid a visit to the Royal Hospital Chelsea where we enjoyed the splendid surroundings and of course a snifter or two in the Pensioners Club.
While at the Royal Hospital I paid a visit to the only surviving KOYLI In Pensioner in the Royal Hospital Don Locerie. Although Don has dementia and deaf I was able to communicate with him by writing things down for him. He wish me to wish all KOYLI’s his best wishes and his regards to Pontefract.
